How it all started...

I come from the very vibrant city of Monterrey, Mexico. Monterrey gave me plenty of opportunities to pursue my dreams. While studying Graphic Design back in college I was able to experiment with photography for the first time. I knew I had to learn more about it and quickly decided to go after a higher degree in Photography.

I was very fortunate to study a Masters Degree at Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, California. I must say this has been the greatest experience ever; I learned from outstanding photography instructors and most importantly got inspired by great people.

During my second year, my brother and his girlfriend asked me if I could photograph their wedding. Of course I said yes! It was my first solo wedding in Mexico and I absolutely fell in love doing this. Since then I haven't stopped doing them and don't see myself doing that any time soon.

After California I got married to the most wonderful man, whom I have to blame in part for pushing me to do something different and exciting with my career. Patricio, known as Pato, besides being my best friend, he was the one that motivated me to pursue photography and acquire a new experience outside of our country. For this, I can't stop thanking him.

Once we got married we moved to Miami where I was able to photograph great local and destination weddings as both first and second photographer.

Two years later we moved to Houston and decided to officially establish Nancy Aidée Wedding Photography. It has been four years since I started photographing weddings and I can definitely say that every wedding is a unique experience that makes my work more exciting every day.

About my name...

It is very often that people get confused with my name. Nancy Aidée represents my first and middle name. In Mexico we get to have two last names; your dad's and your mother's maiden name. For that reason, I have such long name: Nancy Aidée González Montemayor.
